Foto Friday: Houses of Parliament and “Big Ben”

In the intrests of accuracy of course, Big Ben is the bell inside what is actually named Elizabeth Tower. The Houses of Parliament  are an icon and a must see attraction when visiting London for the first time. Unfortunately, the Elizabeth Tower, the clock, and Big Ben will be undergoing renovation work for the next three years so the tower will be at times surrounded by scaffolding.

If you are a resident of the U.K., you are eligible to go tour the tower and see Big Ben free of charge, but that program has just ceased for the renovation period. We were fortunate enough to be able to take one of the last tours, though sadly no cameras or phones were allowed so you will have to settle for the shot from the London Eye.
