El Badi Palace in Marrakech is a late 16th century palace that was constructed of the finest and richest matierials of the day. Now it is a must see piece of history for anyone visiting the Moroccan city. It took 25 years to complete and included marble imported from Italy. As a palace, it’s grandeur was relatively short lived and began to fall into disarray in the middle of the 17th century. Today it also hosts the annual Marrakech Folklore Festival.
Marrakech can be an assault on the senses. At El Badi Palace, parents and kids alike can find a refuge from spice vendors and snake charmers while learning about the history of North Africa.
While this trip was just for the grown-ups, if there is one thing we can all agree on in our family, it is that climbing around some ancient ruins always makes for an enjoyable and educational experience.

El Badi isa beautiful place to visit in Marrakesh. Even though it is not much more than ruins these days, it still has its charm. Great photos by the way. I hope you enjoyed your time in Marrakesh.
